Postcard From A Spirit

Table of Blogs

If everything is energy, why shouldn’t we be able to connect with all sorts of things, right? With people and animals of course, but also with trees, plants, or even ‘lifeless’ objects, like gemstones and crystals. Then again, for many people it sounds weird if you can – allegedly – connect with these lifeless objects. Especially when these things are not only connecting with you, but also inspiring and approaching you.

Roze Quarts Skull

I was never a fan of crystal skulls. I mean, in general skulls have a bad reputation; they are associated with death and scary things. But mainly because we are conditioned in that way. So my conditioning regarding crystal skulls changed when my then girlfriend, also very spiritual, bought one of her own. A quite big one, pinkish and made of roze quarts. She would sometimes meditate with it, or just connect with it. And when she one day drew a beautiful drawing of her late dog, she told me she was totally inspired and lifted by the skull’s energy, in order to be able to draw such a drawing.

Message

So becoming more familiar with these types of crystal, I decided to check some out when visiting a spiritual fair. The lady of the gemstone and crystal stand showed me some of the skulls, and she told me: “Feel free to pick up any of them, and hold them for a while. You might be drawn to one in particular, and it could have some message for you.” Back then I was already spiritual minded, in fact a lot, but even I was a bit sceptical about this latter thing that she mentioned. But this all turned around when I picked up a little one, a shiny, clear one, and I asked whether it had a message for me. And suddenly I heard this voice saying: “I will bring you home.” Somehow it touched me deeply, giving me a lump in my throat. So I immediately knew: I had to buy this one.

Its Name

When I got home I was clearly still impressed by the whole event. And I was happy to have one of my own, like my then girlfriend had. So I wondered if its energy had a name, something it could be called by, since my then girlfriend had gotten a name for hers, and I was already at the point of believing that the crystal skull could have a spirit inside, some kind of entity of energy. Therefore I did a little meditation and tuned in into its energy. And surprisingly enough I got the following name: Maxime.

I felt cheerful about the name, excited that I had gotten some name. But some scepticism had the upper hand: maybe I had just made the name up. Some random name that I had chosen, and not something that the crystal skull had communicated to me. So being a bit stubborn, and mostly rational about it, I told myself: “Okay, for now I will call it Maxime. But maybe I had just made it up.”

Rub It In

Of course something weird came up – I guess the Universe wanted to show me something, or Maxime just wanted to rub it in. Not the following day, but the day after I went down the stairs to get the mail (we were living on the first floor). And to my biggest surprise I noticed this postcard addressed to some stranger called Maxime, but with my full address on it. So it wasn’t dropped in the wrong mailbox, nor did it belong to my neighbours upstairs (a couple with kids), who were called in a totally different way, for the record. And I knew the previous tenants of my apartment, who had different names as well. So I had to laugh about it, guessing its name was Maxime after all.

Two Wishes

And one more thing to share, in case you weren’t convinced enough about communicating spirits in gemstones or crystal skulls. Many years later – my then girlfriend and I had already broken up, had moved as well, but were still friendly – we had to sell our house, and one day she dropped by to bring some cake or pie for an open house, for interested buyers. And before her arrival I connected with my crystal skull. And I had the feeling that Maxime wanted to do two things: just to sit with her, for a little while, and to be outside, to catch some sunlight. When I told my then girlfriend about his first wish, sitting with her, she immediately said ‘sure’, and took him from me. Once in her hands, she held the skull a bit more firmly, and before I could mention his second wish, she told me: “You know what? I am just gonna sit in the garden with him, if you don’t mind.” So funny, right?
