The Universe is a Great Weaver

Table of Blogs

Some weeks ago I experienced some synchronicities on a single day. Like one thing happened and the next one was already following up. And again. As if I was experiencing the connection between them. Or was I attracting them, simply because I was at a certain wavelength?

Rotterdam

Since I wasn’t sure about what I really wanted to study after high school, I tried several things before I started (and finished) my actual degree. And for one of those things I studied in Rotterdam and moved to this city known for their modern bridges and skyscrapers (well, nowadays). It was the first time I moved out of the house, renting a room in that city. And there I met her, technically my first girlfriend.

Instant Connection

She had Turkish roots, and from the first time that we had met – at the Central Station of Rotterdam -, we had this instant connection. She had black, wild curls, and I loved her brown eyes. We would go to the movies, take the train to Amsterdam to have dinner over there, or we would meet up at my place. And often we met at this Central Station of Rotterdam. That was our meeting point.

Starbucks

So fast forward to the present day. I regularly travel to Lombardijen, a neighbourhood of Rotterdam, to have my driving lessons. And in order to get home afterwards, I would normally travel via The Hague, since I like the city and I used to live there – as you might remember. But some weeks ago I decided to go home fast, and that would mean that I needed to take the direct train from Rotterdam to Schiphol. So I had to go to Rotterdam Central Station, where I had some time left to order a coffee at the Starbucks.

And there, while I was waiting in line, my mind went back in time. For the record, the station has been changed massively – completely redesigned, modernized – since I quit my studies in Rotterdam. But I was still able to picture the old hall of the station, and the entrance of the subway, where we would meet up. So standing there I looked at the place where the entrance of the subway had been, at least according to me. And I told myself: well, that must be the place where we usually met – my Turkish love and I.

Drew my Attention

Interesting thing to add to my story: while I got in line at the Starbucks, I noticed this girl in front of me. And not just because I had to line up behind her, but also because she was nice looking – let’s say, she drew my attention. Anyways, once it was my turn, I ordered my coffee and together with her I waited for our orders. A minute or so passed by, and when her coffee was put down on the counter, ready to be picked up, I could see that she had… the same name as my girlfriend from decades ago – since Starbucks would write your name on the cup, as you know. It was sleightly differently spelled – an i was used instead of y -, but I guess because this girl wasn’t Turkish, even though she did have some kind of Middle Eastern look. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

Deep Layers

Don’t know why I had this experience. Maybe a part of her’s – my then girlfriend’s – was still there, in this field of consciousness. Like this part of energy was bound to this place. And I connected with it, since I was simply there, wandering through memory lane. Or maybe I attracted this event, because of my own thoughts. Thoughts that must have been going through some deep layers of my subconscious mind, because I had totally forgotten about the place where I would meet up with my siblings, for dinner, on that same day: a Turkish restaurant in Haarlem, that my brother had picked some months before. Guess the Universe is some great weaver. And ‘the only thing’ you need to do, is connecting with your deep layered thoughts.
